Japanese Garden
Adjacent to an outbuilding in the grounds of a 17th Century former hospital was the site selected by the client to design and build a Japanese-inspired garden.
This included key elements of rocks personally selected from a Welsh quarry, a path finished with edges made from Indian black granite cut into strips, and green carpet foliage of four species of thyme along with Chamomile, which were well suited to the site.
The client was incredibly pleased with the end result and requested further work to design and build a walkway adjacent to the Japanese garden where, due to the location, moss and ‘mind your own business’ was freely planted.
The client has further commissioned work on a 1-acre walled garden which includes a bespoke 30 metre rose tunnel designed by our principal designer Dan Lobb and manufactured by a reputable local blacksmith.
